Hey all, our Kickstarter went live yesterday and one of the big types of rewards on it is access to the “Power Precons.” Preconstructed competitive decks with an eye towards performance rather than the traditional CCG preconstructed decks that mostly exist to be disassembled and/or laughed at by the majority of the other decks in the room.
We figured that today might be a good day to showcase each of these lists, their contents, and their general gameplans. Also, as an added bonus, players could put these decks together and play with them right now on our Table Top Simulator Deck Builder that was released recently. It has made the process of making Chrono decks significantly more streamlined and is definitely worth checking out.
Without any further ado though, let me introduce your six Power Precons.
Tempo Deplete (Lifeblood + Silence)
Divers: Egg Tender + Telepathic Scavenger
Agents:
3 Somber Astronomer
3 Aardvark Precinct Captain
3 Panicked Refugee
3 Rotting Rocker
3 Forest Recluse
3 Sleepy Druid
3 Harbinger of Power
2 Zealot of the Hunt
Actions:
3 Return to Stillness
3 Bloom
3 Cascading Serenity
3 Mind over Matter
3 Convergent Pack
2 Affront to Nature
We’ll start off strong with a concept as old as CCGs themselves, the tempo deck. Make big lads, control the board, move your opponents last vestiges of protection out of the way, and swing for the hills. Those who love traditional midrange strategies, moving back and forth between the aggressive and the controlling depending on point in the game and matchup will enjoy this particular brew.
Amalgam Disarm (Phasetide + Singularity)
Divers: The ‘Stache + Rogue Amalgam
Agents:
3 Efficient Scrapbot
3 Awakened Security System
3 Traffic Conductor
3 Enthusiastic Botpoke
3 Roiling Amalgam
2 Stern Arbiter
Actions:
3 Wake-Up Prod
3 Aggressive Recycling
3 Backhand
3 Conscientious Overwrite
3 Overclock
2 Timestop
2 Frontline Fellowship
3 What Could Be
1 We Have Cookies
This is the first deck that could reasonably be describe as combo, though we’re going to make our players find some of the *truly* unhinged synergies we left behind in our game on their own. For this game plan we’ll stall with a myriad of small removal, Disarm effects, and chump blockers until we find our Overclocks. A pair of those later and you can easily get in a swing for 20+ damage and knock your opponent out in one swell foop.
Khaela Resplendent (Splintergleam + Sungrace)
Divers: Nascent Painforger + Starfueled Medics
Agents:
3 Bloodline Tracker
3 Glittering Gladiator
3 Kinetic Absorber
3 Bright-Eyed Supplicant
3 Stalwart Champion
3 Lumbering Starseeker
2 Frontline Juggernaut
3 Gilded Behemoth
Actions:
2 Rebuild
3 Channel Vigor
3 Sunshock
3 Chaos Control
3 Ironblood Fervor
3 Rippling Resplendence
Here we’ve got our second deck that could reasonably fit the midrange descriptor, though it plays out completely differently to its above partner. Here we are all about making incredibly large lads that only get bigger the more damage they take. It turns out one of our divers, Khaela, is great at keeping our opponent’s board clear while dealing damage to herself. What a wonderful coincidence.
Infinite Daka (Sungrace + Singularity)
Divers: Swashbuckling Diehard + Nascent Clone
Agents:
3 Brilliant Martyr
3 Kinetic Absorber
3 Enhanced Retriever
3 Enlightened Refugee
3 Starfueled Medics
3 Containment Breach
2 Planet Seeder
Actions:
3 Sunshock
3 Wake-Up Prod
2 Chronal Scan
3 Paradox Analysis
3 Radiant Channeling
3 Cleansing Blast
3 Stability Control
This one is here to showcase some of the extremely funky synergies that start to happen in Chrono CCG. Our divers are a planned one two punch that as early as turn five can start churning out a truly unreasonable number of Cowboys. Best of all even if our opponent can manage to answer them, every single one will create another dangerous threat as the hat passes on down the line.
Bangin’ Burn (Singularity + Splintergleam)(Front Art=Headbanging)
Divers: Bloodline Tracker + Enlightened Refugee
Agents:
3 Denizen of Flames
3 Efficient Scrapbot
3 Desperate Primordial
3 Enhanced Retriever
3 Blazing Shifter
3 Devoted Bloodletter
3 Frontline Juggernaut
Actions:
3 Headbanging
3 Paradox Cacophony
3 Bathe in Flames
3 Wake-Up Prod
3 Bloodbolt
3 Go for the Heart
1 BREAK AND SHATTER!
Look, sometimes you’ve just absolutely had enough of everyone else’s nonsense and just want to light it on fire. This is our pure aggro deck of the bunch and it makes no bones about what it plans to do. Slam everything down into your opponent’s face and then use Enlightened Refugee to refuel for the last couple of points to close out the game. Simple, solid, Splintergleam.
Silent Soup (Silence + Phasetide)(Front Art=Appeal to the Scrolls)
Divers: Bearer of the Broth + Solemn Attendant
Agents:
3 Somber Astronomer
3 Librarian’s Assistant
3 Destiny Ripper
3 Disciplined Student
3 Bareknuckle Inquisitor
3 Sensory Deprivation Pod
2 The Forgotten Tale
Actions:
3 Backhand
3 Blessed Soup
3 Appeal to the Scrolls
3 Spread the Sickness
3 Hush Now
3 Quiet Repose
2 Spirit’s Lament
Every point needs its counterpoint, every burn its balance, and every game its control decks. Here our plan is simply to calmly drink our soup, answer every threat our opponent tries to bring to bear, and run them completely out of resources before delivering the death blow. That blow tends to come in the form of a Spirit’s Lament, when all of the things we’ve held off over the course of a game rise back up to destroy our poor unsuspecting opponent.
