Hey, Ash here, welcome to another Dev Update! This month we’ve got some more UI assets to show you and we’ve got some upcoming events for our community and TTS players.
By the time that you’re reading this, we have pushed a balance patch to our Tabletop Simulator version of the game. In an effort to allow new brews we have tapped down the power level of some of our control tools in the game. We’ve also been taking a look at the identity of our Syndicates and ways to make them feel a little more unique. The patch notes will provide more details, but for now, Shields Up has been removed and replaced with Pocket Dimension. We’re hoping this brings a bit of spice to Scattered Helpers/Pocket Scout strategies.
With this update you’ll notice some cards got a makeover. We’ve updated our frames slightly to represent the Syndicate more, and we’ve replaced dozens of our placeholder images with official art. We’re interested in getting more of these images replaced so read till the end for some events we’re holding this month.
We’ve continued going forward with our UI and have produced what I think are absolutely gorgeous rank icons for those of you that will be climbing the ladder. You can find Iron through Platinum here, but we’re going to keep the design of our highest ranks for you to discover yourself when the game comes out. As always, work in progress, nothing is ever final.

We’ve also created the design for our game mode select screen and our deckbuilder. Our artist is currently using placeholder art for our game mode tabs. It'll be replaced in the client, but for now, it's not our art so I've blurred it.

This upcoming month or so we have a few events for the community!. First things first, to celebrate the patch on TTS, we’ll be hosting another FREE Community Tournament on March 10th, 8:00PM EST. If it’s been a while since you’ve played Chrono, this is a great time to get back into it as we’ve also got some bonus rewards for community members. Bring your friends! You can find details for this here.
In an effort to continue to fill out our card art, we’ll also be hosting a Community Art Contest closer to the end of the month. This is an opportunity to get your art in the game for your favorite card and get prizes for it! Don’t get started quite yet, more details will be released after the Community Tournament, including an eligible card list (Hint: we’re going to want art for cards we don’t already have art for). Slightly related, if you are, or know of an artist who is interested in commissioned work, reach out to me on Discord, ItsThatAshGuy.
Alright, this is what you’re really here for. Chrono Connections!
We’re reaching the endgame here, so we’d like to start asking for your help. We believe that Chrono should feel like the community has a hand in its development. Implementing community art, custom cards or balance suggestions is something we have an interest in and we’re always looking to see what you want from the game. Also, as we begin marketing the game we’d like to ask you to do the same. Telling a friend, leaving a comment or just bringing Chrono up in conversations can do a lot to spread the word and expand our community.
Thank you and I hope you enjoy this next month of Chrono! I’m very excited for all things to come.
