Hey everyone, Ash here!
In case you missed it, last month we invited players to help us playtest the Pre-Alpha build of our game. We’ve received well over 100 invite requests, and the feedback and support so far have been incredible. So in this Dev Update, we’re recapping what we worked on over the past month and sharing a look ahead at what’s next for the Pre-Alpha.
I think most of our players would agree that the game has come a long way since we first opened the Pre-Alpha. As of writing this, we’ve patched 91 bugs with the most common being the classic: “this card doesn’t do the thing.” To give you an idea of how quick we’re moving, by the time you're reading this, another patch will likely have gone out, hopefully bringing us to 100 bugs fixed in our first month. Not a bad milestone!
Of course, it hasn’t just been bug fixes. We’ve added more UI screens and navigation buttons to improve menu flow, expanded the settings menu so players can better optimize their experience, and rolled out a variety of quality-of-life improvements to make gameplay smoother and the board state easier to track. We’re not 100% bug-free yet, but we’re getting close, and we’re aiming to hit that goal within the next couple of weeks.
As the game becomes more polished and player-friendly, we’re also looking to bring more people into the experience. If everything goes according to plan, we’d like to skip the next invite wave entirely and open the Pre-Alpha to the public. No invites, just a download button on our website for anyone who wants to jump in. We’ll make a formal announcement when that happens, but we’re currently aiming for the end of June.
This month’s update is a bit shorter than usual. Most of our focus has been on improving the Pre-Alpha, so there’s not as much new content to report. That said, I did find time for something important: Chrono Connections. I made this one a little trickier, good luck!
To all our playtesters: thank you. Your time, feedback, and passion are helping us shape the best version of Chrono possible. We see all your contributions, and we truly appreciate them.
And for those of you still waiting for an invite: thank you, too. We know it’s hard to wait, but your enthusiasm means the world to us. We’re doing everything we can to make Chrono worth it.
